Plans to hold a soft opening for 7 Cedars Casino’s new hotel are now on hold until early August. The scheduled opening for the approximate $40 million, 100-room hotel was set for this spring but has been postponed because of COVID-19 precautions and weather-related causes, casino CEO Jerry Allen said. 7 Cedars Casino will reopen in April; 7 Cedars Casino remains closed until further notice; 7 Cedars Casino will be closed temporarily; A&C Tavern Bremerton Off-Track.

SEQUIM, WA, February 21, 2019—With the completion of its newest dining venue, The House of Seven Brothers, the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe can focus on its next venture, the 7 Cedars Hotel, the first phase of the 7 Cedars Resort masterplan.

The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe will break ground February 28th, on its five story, 100 room hotel, positioned adjacent to the 7 Cedars Casino in Sequim, Washington. The hotel will offer new opportunities for positions in the local hospitality industry. Revenues will fund Tribal programs and services. A sovereign nation, the Tribe offers its citizens various services and benefits. While federal funding covers some of these costs, Tribal revenues help raise the level of these services up to 21st century standards.

Some may recall that this project was originally slated to begin in 2008, but the Tribe determined that a delay was prudent due to the national financial downturn at that time. Now, ten years later, the many pieces of this complex project are coming together along with an improved economy.

Construction of a service road connecting the Casino, Hotel, Longhouse Market, and Tribal campus began in July 2018, to allow employees and guests to travel between venues without entering the Highway 101 front guest entrance. The Blyn Tribal properties will be connected to the Class A Water Reclamation Facility at the east end of the City of Sequim. That facility was designed with excess capacity to handle the growth that has been expected in East Clallam County. The Carlsborg community connected in 2017 and the Blyn Tribal campus is expected to connect in late fall of 2018.

The Tribe is currently working with Rice Fergus Miller Architecture on design choices – using natural elements spanning from water to sky – that will visually tell the story of the Pacific Northwest, and our northwest region tribes’ history and culture. With a bold and inviting, wood-rich exterior, the hotel will be located to the west of the existing 7 Cedars Casino on the reservation land of the Tribe.

The first floor will house a large lobby, conference/meeting/banquet space, a coffee bar and administrative offices. The four upper floors will offer 100 rooms decorated in Northwest style with quality craftsmanship that reflects the strength, harmony and timelessness of life on the Olympic Peninsula, the Tribe’s homeland since time immemorial. The Tribe’s goal is to enhance a visitor’s sense of this place, its history, and to offer an opportunity to experience the beauty and authenticity of our natural surroundings.

Chairman W. Ron Allen stated, “We’re excited that we finally have a firm time schedule for this project that we have talked about for so many years. We are confident it will extend the casual elegance theme we have strived for at our 7 Cedars Resort and Casino.”

The long awaited hotel will open in the spring of 2020. The Tribe looks forward to this journey and its continued growth as part of this community.

SEQUIM, WA, July 24, 2020—The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe will open the first phase of the 7 Cedars Resort master-plan, five story, 100 room hotel, positioned adjacent to the 7 Cedars Casino in Sequim, Washington.

The Tribe worked with Rice Fergus Miller Architecture on design choices—using natural elements spanning from water to sky that will visually tell the story of the Pacific Northwest, and our Tribe’s history and culture. The design team worked to create a seamless integration of the design vision from architecture to interiors. Warm tones of the wood façade and tower colors in the lobby are complimented by a custom curated art experience that fills the hotel. The art featured in the hotel is by Coast Salish artists and Pacific Northwest photographers, the directive from the leadership of 7 Cedars was to bring to life a wide array of both tribal and nature-based art, not featuring a single tribe, but rather featuring artists from all over the region.

The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s goal is to enhance a visitor’s sense of place, its history, and to offer an opportunity to experience the beauty and authenticity of our natural surroundings.

The art collection on each floor of the hotel tells a story of a “Layer of Life”, Water-Land-Trees-Sky. A 42-foot totem pole, carved by Nathan Gilles, named “Welcome to the Land of Sea to Sky” will greet you as you enter this beautiful setting.

A complimentary piece to the art collection is the custom corridor carpet inspired by the shoreline of the Olympic Peninsula. Tribal Council Chairman/CEO Ron Allen loaned RFM’s design team a number of cedar hats from his personal collection that were used for inspiration for the custom guestroom carpet.

The first floor is comprised of a large lobby, conference/meeting/ banquet space, administrative offices, and the Jamestown Java Coffee Shop. The four upper floors offer 100 rooms that are unlike any other property on the peninsula and provide an array of guestroom experiences in a boutique setting. The hotel has five room types, King, Double Queen, King Suites, Executive Suites, and one-bedroom Corner Suites. The rooms are designed with uniquely crafted themes of Cedar Forest, Salish Sea, and Canoe Journey, which inspire the palettes, colors, textures, and tone in each room.

The long-awaited hotel will open August 4, 2020. The Tribe looks forward to this journey and its continued growth as part of this community. With our primary emphasis on the health and well-being of our Tribal and Olympic Peninsula community, because of the current pandemic, our grand opening plan is set for a future date.
