Texas Holdem Manila

The standard 52-card pack is stripped of all cards below 7 to make a deck of 32 cards (7,8,9,10, J,Q,K,A) Object of the Game. The goal of each player is to win the pot, which contains all the bets that the players have made in any one deal. What made Texas Hold'em really famous was the World Series of Poker Tournament (WSOP). The WSOP exists since 1970, where it took place for the first time at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas and ever since then the game Texas Hold'em, has been played by poker players all over the world. Texas Hold’Em Poker is an easy game to learn, just difficult to.

Manila is played with a stripped deck in which all cards below the rank of 7 are removed leaving just 32 cards. Each player is dealt two hole cards. The five community cards are dealt one at a time and each is followed by a round of betting.

At the showdown, unlike Texas Hold’em and more like Omaha, each player makes their best poker hand from both of their hole cards and exactly three of the five community cards.

Because of the stripped deck, a flush beats a full house. Also, an ace may not be played low for a straight (that is, the hand A-7-8-9-10 is not counted as a straight).

Variations

Common variations involve dealing three cards to each poker player, one of which can either be discarded at some point (like Pineapple Poker), or else held to the end, but maintaining the requirement that each player uses exactly two of their own cards with exactly three of the community cards. Three-card variants are sometimes played with 6s restored to the deck, making it 36 cards.

INTRODUCTION TO MANILA

Manila or Seven Up Pokeris a variant on Texas Hold ‘Em. This is a popular variant in Australian Casinos and is unique because of its stripped deck. Manila is played with a standard 52 card deck with all cards below 7s removed for a total of 32 cards. Like most poker games, players try to win the pot by placing bets, bluffing, and having the best five-card hand.

THE DEAL

Prior to the deal, the blinds must be put out. The player to the left of the dealer places the small blind and the player to their left places the big blind. After, the dealer passes each player two cards face-down and one card face-up. The single card is dealt to the center of the table.

Like Hold’Em, Manila is a community card game. However, players try and make the best 5 card hand with their two hole cards and three community cards (out of five).

THE PLAY

The game consists of 5 betting rounds. Between each round of betting, the dealer deals a new community card to the table. At the end of the betting rounds, players use their two hole cards and 3 of 5 community cards in the showdown. Since the game utilizes a stripped deck, flushes beat full houses. Also, aces cannot be used as low cards in a straight. The player with the best five card hand wins the pot!
